Never Enough Time

Well...I forgot I had a blog.

Nah, not really. I just haven't had the time. I am doing an overhaul on some of my junior high curriculum and it is taking for ever. Not to mention all the projects I do for others.

Unfortunately, this post is going to be really short, too. But I have some signs I created I wanted to share.

Looking at them now, I suppose I should have left a border around them. Oh well. I think you get the idea. =]

If you do download them, could you leave me a little message? I really enjoy feedback! Thanks!

Poster and some fun!

My latest poster. Need to remind some students that it isn't all about them...
This will fill an regular 81/2 x 11 sheet of paper. I don't know why my screenshot came out all smooshed!

Keep in mind that in Google Drive (Docs), for some reason, the PDF reader doesn't like the font I used (Hobo Std). I double checked and it will look like the above image when it is downloaded!

**Bunny Trail**

thisissand.com

I don't remember how I found this site, but it is kind of addicting soothing. When I need to chill, or have a child that need something to do because they are finished, this is a fun little site to use!

This Is Sand - The below summary is taken directly from their blog - http://thisissand.wordpress.com/

"thisissand.com is a website for play. It changes the pixels on the screen into digital sand that can be used as building material for cosmic landscapes, Clemens-style sand paintings, mandalas and so on.
This is a joint project of the designers Johanna Lundberg and Jenna Sutela with the Flash programmer Timo Koro. We wanted to create a playground of colours and sound for people to play with us in our sandbox – within the computer screen."
A couple of notes:
  • When you get to the site, it is completely blank, except for a little box in the top left corner. Click that for instructions.
  • DO NOT let the kids wander through the gallery! Unfortunately, there are some people out there that find it humorous to make obscene images in a place that should be "family friendly". If you want to show them examples, I would go to the gallery and take a few screenshots of the good ones.

Well, I better get going. Papers, unfortunately, do not grade themselves.

Blessings!

PS I would LOVE some feedback. Also, if you download any of my things, would you let me know? I have no other way of knowing if someone has downloaded or not!

More Posters

Thought I would just post this new posters I made...just because!

I would love to do more today, but I was just informed that our Back to School night was postponed until next week due to "the extreme weather forecast of strong thunderstorms, high winds, and possible tornado activity for this evening" (sheesh, and this is New Jersey!). Normally this wouldn't keep me from doing more, but I put my back out yesterday and a full day of getting up and down, pushing in chairs for the littlest ones and attempting to bend over to pick things up has me in a bit of agony. So I am going to say 'Adieu' until a later date. Hope your day isn't is soggy and windy as ours has been!

It's About Time!

I can't believe my last post was on the last day of last school year and now, here it is the sixth day of the new school year! Time has certainly flown! Sorry that I've been MIA.

Wondering why I didn't post? I was away from Internet access for most of the summer! (Well, technically I had access, but I wasn't suppose to use it for personal business...limited bandwidth!) I work at a girls Christian camp in the Adirondacks in NY for 8 weeks of the summer. Needless to say, Internet access is limited and cell service is sparse. Even though we have a fully functioning office, we keep all other technology to a bare minimum so that the girls aren't distracted by the world and can concentrate on their outdoor surroundings, learning new skills, making new friends and, most importantly, their relationship with God.

Anyway, I didn't have a lot of time until now to post anything. I don't know how you all keep putting up all that great content, set up your rooms, and run your families this time of year (or any time of the year for that matter)! Between laminating a million things, rearranging some of the furniture in my non-existent free space (I'm in a computer lab, so I can't really move much...), planning for the week/month/quarter/semester/year, redecorating my room with stars and bright colors, and breathing...I barely have enough time to sleep!

But I feel compelled to do something.

SO...

I am posting a couple of the posters I made for my classroom!

This one I use for when there is something new going on, or we have some new gadget.

And this one hangs in my room as a reminder - whether they are studying, doing research or time management.

So, there you go. I will have to get busy and make more things to share with you...after I get some sleep!

Blessings,

The Last Day

Well, it is has finally come. The LAST day! I don't have much to say. I'm going to spend the day putting things away, reorganizing my curriculum binders (they never seem to stay neat!), and generally getting things ready for the first day of school.

Thankfully, my room doesn't get used during the summer for anything, so I don't have to hide away everything. I don't even have to take my bulletin boards down if I don't want to, though I will take most of them down. I want to redo some and make new ones. (I get bored easy...no pun intended!)

Summer plans are to be working at the same Christian girls camp I have worked at for umpteen years (that would be about 19). I have done a lot of  jobs, which include, but not limited to, archery instructor, drama instructor, craft porch specialist, kitchen help and currently I am the photographer. It is one of the most wonderful places to be - I was a camper there, and I continue to go!

Well, that's all for now. Going to try to tackle those pesky binders!

Awards Freebie and a Hawk?

I have been going through my archive of awards for the end of the year, and I totally forgot I had made these a couple of years ago. So, to celebrate (I don't need much of a reason to do that!) I am going to give them away for FREE! I don't have many things that I make, but what I do, I want to share! Click each picture to go to the link...

***PLEASE be aware that google docs has mangled the fonts; what you see there is not what you will get. The fonts I actually used are Bodoni MT Condensed and Script MT Bold. All three are .pptx files and are fully editable. I personally did not make any of the graphics...they are all from Microsoft ClipArt. I just put everything together. :-)

 This generic...

For computer class...
And another generic
Please let me know if the links don't work. This is my first time attempting this!

One last thing before I go. This guy was hanging out on campus today...no wonder I haven't see many chipmunks and squirrels for a few days!

Just hanging out...scouting out some lunch.

I think he spotted his meal!

Have a great night everyone!
